Fiend is a good choice to maximize flamecleansed. Biggest down side is that fire is a very resistable element, and unlike sorc/alch, you have no immunity bypass. If you want to splash 1-2 levels, rogue, monk, paladin, cleric or FvS, fighter, or wizard all tend to be reasonable splashes, although probably worse than pure still. That's for offense.
